USA 2019 - Week 1, Moab to Salt Lake City

The drive from Moab through Arches national park was unbelievable, it took my breath away. This is the place where Westworld is filmed, and we absolutely felt like the man in black the entire time.

We budgeted 2h but stayed 3h and could have easily stayed more. We did a couple of very short hikes but would have loved to have had the time to do some of the longer ones. Thank god I bought these fluffy Uggs, the grip on them was perfect!

Our favourite section was the first part, the "windows" area, and my personal favourite was the double arch. Some other highlights were panorama point, where you had a 360 view of the Arches park as well as the snow capped mountains.

On our way into Salt Lake City, we stopped at Immersive Technologies. Unfortunately it was a Sunday so no one was in the office, but I peeked in like a wierdo and saw Richard Beasley's desk! Can't wait to show him my creepy photos. My phone even tried to join the Immersive wifi, I felt so at home. Wish I was able to catch up with everyone but they're all on a conference anyway, such a shame about the timing.

The office looked really nice, but it was in a building with some other really dubious businesses...

Salt Lake City is really pretty. We ambled up from Crystal Inn to Temple Square where I saw a squirrel! Or squiiiirrrl as Yvonne would say.

We decided to have dinner out, and we were completely stuck for choice; there were so many amazing bars and restaurants! Even more so than a city that isn't apparently dry. We settled on a place called Whiskey Street which had the most extensive list of whiskeys and beers we've ever seen. The food was amazing too; we got devilled eggs, wedge salad, and a polenta poutine which came with pulled rib meat and a son in law egg, incredible. We both had a couple of old fashioneds, Andrew had a spiral jetty beer (like the place Michael and Iva told us about!), and I had another Oska Blues G'Night IPA after I loved it so much in Denver.

Tomorrow will be an early start so that we can make the most of Park City skiing, so bed time is now!
