The conditions today were all over the place. Our first run we though we wouldn't last an hour, then it got really sunny and nice but that didn't last too long unfortunately until the storm of doom hit.
We had everything from 1m deep powder (Andrew fell head over heals and got so stuck he needed help from a ski instructor to escape!) to crunchy ice.
The stop at Candy Cabin gave us the sugary pick me up for the rest of the day. We lasted until 3pm, when we rushed down to grab a cookie!
Beaver Creek has freshly baked choc chip cookies served by chefs at the bottom of the mountain every day at 3pm. I had two... I don't care what happens, it was worth it. And since I ate two cookies anyway...
We then checked in and went straight down to enjoy s'mores happy hour. At the Park Hyatt, you can go down to reception to get a s'mores pack and cook (bake? heat? not sure) them at the fire pit at the bottom of the slopes. After googling how the hell to make a s'more, we managed to kind of get the hang of it, although the kids next to us definitely had some skills on us. The home made marshmallows were amazing, the Hershey's chocolate was a little bit weird to me, but Andrew thought I was crazy and insisted they were brilliant. Two cookies and 3 s'mores... wish me luck.
We also explored the beautiful village a little bit. They even had escalators that were working in the snow; I don't know what is wrong with Perth escalators but how the hell can these ones work and Glendalough train station is broken every second week?
Tonight we're planning to go watch the Thursday fireworks, hopefully Yvonne and Eduardo will join us!
