Japan - Kyoto to Hiroshima

Today Amy and Kyle left for Tokyo to go back to Perth, while Andrew and I continued on to Hiroshima. Bye Amy and Kyle!

Hiroshima is a beautiful city. Our hotel has an amazing view over the Peace Memorials and the Atomic Bomb Dome.

After catching a road car to our hotel we headed straight to the Peace Memorial Museum. It was a very sombre and thought provoking experience, and I actually felt quite strange navigating through the sea of other tourists snapping photos. I only brought myself to take out my camera to take a photo of some of Sadako's beautiful paper cranes.

All of the peace memorials are so lovely, and it's really amazing the peaceful vibe you get walking through them especially after seeing the way the area looked 70 years ago.

We caught the tourist bus around to the castle, then to Hon Dori, and made our way to Okonomi-mura, the 3-story building filled with okonomiyaki restaurants. We each had 1.5, and basically rolled back home.

The Dome at night was haunting, especially with the still river and modern background of the city.
