Zdravo! We’ve arrived in Belgrade and have had a lovely first couple of days.
We were really happy to get out of the cold weather in Perth, and switched into holiday mode as soon as we had a pint in our hands at the airport, and even managed to say hello to Julien who was on the same first flight.
After the long commute, we arrived feeling a bit worse for wear, but perked up as soon as we saw Iva, Olga and Nena. We were spoilt with big hugs, Serbian beer and wine, and delicious food; I didn’t think I would eat so much but everything was so delicious! The russian salad (very similar to salata de beuf but with peas), tomatoes, and strawberries were great. Olga was so happy to see everyone, and absolutely loved her Lion from Lyon. It was really cool seeing Nena’s apartment, it felt so familiar, even had some icoanas! Our accomodation is lovely, and right in the centre of the Old Town.
After about 12h of sleep and some local coffee, we met everyone for a coffee at Bistro Dorcol. The house (boiled) coffee was delicious!
Next was ice cream at Crna Ovca which a nice cool treat on the 34 degree day (my raspberry and kiwi fruit icy pole was so fruity, just like a smoothie), and the spritz and negronis at Caffe Hand Made on the beautiful cobblestone street in Skadarska hit the spot.
We’re now relaxing over some beer and snacks, and will head out soon again for an early dinner and hopefully some more Dogma beer!
