Fremantle Winter Festival
Last night I went iceskating in the middle of the Fremantle Esplanade, of all places. It was awesome! I hadn't been ice skating for years but this just seemed too fun to pass up.
A massive ice skating rink was set up in the Esplanade as part of the Fremantle Winter festival, as well as a couple of tents where hot food and drinks were much appreciated after the hour long skating session. I was a little skeptical about how the rink would actually stay frozen since it wasn't super cold outside, but by some sort of wizardry the ice was completely solid!
The bar was set up in a tent facing the skating rink, so you could drink mulled wine while watching the next group of skaters do their best on the rickety ice, which made for interesting stacks.
Ice skating outdoors in Fremantle is definitely something I never knew I always wanted.

Pole and Snake Party
An interesting combination to be sure!
Last Saturday a fellow instructor from dancing hired out a hall for her 22nd birthday, along with a couple of stage poles and a snake man, as you do.
There were a few teeny tiny palm sized snakes, a mid sized snake that would always want to climb upwards, and a massive 2m snake that was really cute but unexpectadly heavy. They were all really friendly, and would snuggle up and curl around you everywhichway they could to share your warmth! The combination definitely made for some interesting photos.
My favourite one was the big snake. The feeling of his muscles contracting on your skin as he propelled himself along was awesome. The way they move about seems a little bit like magic to me!
Happy Birthday Tammie!
Also, my hair is brown again :)
