Pre-Christmas 2023 Wrap Up

2023 is almost finished, time for a little pre-Christmas wrap up!

Magic Dirt at Badlands was wicked!

Jazz in the Park was a lovely RTR event as usual.

Handstands are getting more consistent, but still so much work to go on that shape.

Vominator forever!

Added the 2023 Royal Agricultural Society (aka Royal Show) Pin to the pile.

Did the hardest puzzle I've ever done (thanks Claire!), and an fun classic from Amy.

Fremantle Beerfest was a blast!

Mina's outrage (and being open to trying them on, alas they did not fit) at my new pole shoes was possibly my favourite moment of the year!

I finally caved to the targeted marketing and bought Glamrdip. I actually love it! Getting better every time, although it still takes like 1.5hr.

Celebrated Neville's Birthday at Fleur over amazing food and tiny cocktails.

Hung out with Yvy and Simmy!

Did a whole bunch of Christmas baking, I think the big Christmas trees turned out super cute!

Looking forward to a lovely Christmas with family, and a fun new years at... drum roll... The Garden (as usual)!

Flying High Christmas Showcase 2023

Another fantastic year at Flying High was wrapped up with a breathtaking lineup of performances from our very talented students and instructors!

Our instructor routine, crafted by Melina, was so fun to perform, there are girls everywhere! Who run the world?

I loved putting together this routine to FKA Twigs - Two Weeks. I almost didn't do it; before we went on our big holiday, I was feeling a big down (in hindsight) and didn't get the same feeling of joy when thinking about putting together a routine, so I didn't. When we got back, I suddenly got the joy back, and put this together quite quickly, although the blindfold idea had been kicking around in my head for a couple of years now.

I was so happy to get to perform it, especially with Yvonne there, it's the first time she'd been and she was so sickeningly proud. Andrew and my dad were also there, so much love and support for this craziness!

Kraftwerk and Alvvays

This weekend we went and saw the OG electronic masters, Krafwerk with a very OG fan, my dad!

Took my dad around Elizabeth Quay beforehand, he was suprised about how much it had changed. We enjoyed a burger and some chips while watching the sunset.

It was a really incredible show, I've never seen anything like it. The sound and visuals were incredible, and I was so impressed that the venue (Riverside Theatre) was completely sold out, so about 4k fans there!

My favourite song was Radioactive (the Discovered by Madame Curie line gets me every time). My dad said that a lot of the songs were quite different, but enjoyed them for how they sounded on the day. He did his best to get his beetle signed (that car makes an appearance on the cover of Autobahn) but unfortunately it was not possible, despite his spirited negotiations with various security staff.

We also saw Alvvays the night before at Metro City, quite a different concernt, also incredible. Her voice!

So happy about how much live music is back in Perth. We have SBTRKT, and Rufus du Sol coming up soon. Best feeling to have these ticket printouts on our fridge!
