Last night was the Flying High Student Showcase, which was October this year for Halloween instead of at the end of the year, and I think everyone agrees not dancing in 40 degree weather is the absolute best!
The performances were incredible as always, with a few first-time performers (Anna's incredibly cute and flexy Come Little Children routine), some people who hadn't performed for a while (Ally who nailed her Lullaby of Woe routine perfectly), lots of creativity (we loved Alison's slit faced woman routine) and a very technical but witty performance from a trio (Q, Brenda and Shirly) who just got back from a Sweden world championship where they performed this routine. A few other highlights were Amy's incredibly difficult and super hot laughing witch routine, Kat's slinky solo despite an injured shoulder, Tammy forgetting part of her advanced routine and relying on the students for what was next (it happens to the best of us haha), and Shirley's speech at the end which was a hilarious depiction of how Tammy does not know right from left, and how that's lead to many near death experiences during complicated moves where moving the correct leg is a life or death decision (but we all know Tammy will catch us no matter what!).
Training for our instructor routine was so much fun, and we just had the best prop ever, with one of our very pregnant instructors Jackie still looking as flawless and light as ever.
